A spokesperson for 7th Distric U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg has confirmed that U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney is scheduled to visit the Marshall home of Fred and Arlene Homann next month to stump for the republican congressman's re-election campaign. "I am very excited to have the Vice President come to Calhoun County," Walberg said Wednesday. Fred Homann, who listed his 17 1/2 Mile Road mansion for $5.5 million, said the event is a fundraiser for Walberg. Homann said he was asked by his friend, Curtis Whittaker, part owner of Southern Exposure near Marshall, to host the event. "I said 'sure, to help the party,'" said Homann, a native of Germany who said he supports President George W. Bush and Cheney and their efforts in Iraq. He also would like to see Congress returned to republican control. Watch this Saturday's Chronicle for more information.

I am DISGUSTED that this mastermind of the RAPING of our country will be in MY hometown. He is certainly NOT welcomed by everyone in this town.
Thank you goes out to the Homann Family for hosting one of the Best Vice Presidents this country has ever had. The people that bad mouth him usually have never accomplished anything in their own life and are waiting for the Government to take care of them. This is the type that the Clinton's , rely on for votes.Social idots.Mr Cheney is also one of the smartest VP ever. One of the best thing's that Bush has done. He has surround him self with good people.
I notice this article doesn't state exactly when Cheney will be visiting, though I suppose I'll know the ghoul's nearby when I inexplicably shudder and a shiver runs down my spine.
If you are to assume that Cheney is one of the smartest VP`s ever because he is able to conduct an illegal war despite HUGE opposition by the people of america then I guess he is "good people". Notice how Cheney always has a dirty smirk on his face, as though he has something to hide.
Believe it or not, there are successful people out there who are not "social idiots" and know when our government is running our country into the ground with an ENORMOUS DEFICIT and the sort economic inflation that has not been seen in YEARS.
Conservatives who resort to name calling and labeling anyone who isn`t a republican a "bleeding heart liberal" are most certainly the ones who need to be educated.
Please, before making the mistake of taking a party affiliation a little too far and making an ass of yourself, do some research.
