The bids are in

Bids from nine private cleaning firms were received by the Marshall Public Schools to provide custodial services for the next three years, MPS Director of Finance and Operations Amy Jones told a committee at a meeting Thursday. Three companies are being asked to give presentations to school officials Aug. 7 and the board will vote Aug. 13. The three firms offered proposals ranging from between $560,0000 and $695,000 in each of the three years. See today's Chronicle for details.

What a crock. Trim the REAL FAT. The school board has sold the taxpayers another load of crap. We are forced to pay outrageous taxes for these upgrades to our school and the board wants to maintain these facilities with strangers that do not care for nor pay for the very facilities they maintain.

I would venture to say the turn-over rate amongst their employees is extreme, which will cause many new faces inside our halls. I would also guess many of their employees are either felons or illegal aliens, as theses are the only people willing to work for such substandard wages and conditions these cleaning companies historically have encountered.

What a poor way to maintain such large investment. You get what you pay for.

Although, this is a great idea, why don’t we outsource the top jobs within the school and save even more money?

All of the Assistant Superintendents and made up positions should also be outsourced to the lowest bidder. Get rid of the Athletic Director, what waste of money, and this person has a secretary, for what, can’t he type? The Director of Finance whom also has her own Secretary.

What a crock. The school has made too many top jobs that do nothing, gave them a big fat salary, and secretary, too many over paid Queen Bees. Trim the REAL FAT.
